An online seminar was held on the topic “From cybercrime to terrorism: Effective various examples of the use of online investigation and the role of digital forensics”
From October 21 to 23 this year, forensic experts of the territorial divisions of the Center for Forensic Examinations of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in an online seminar on “From cybercrime to Terrorism: Effective various examples of using online investigation and the role of digital forensics” organized by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the UN Counter-Terrorism Center (UNCCT) and the UN Regional Center for Proactive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA).
The online training discussed the issues of cybercrime in the modern world, considered the methods used by cybercriminals, types of crimes and ways to solve them.
Various examples of using the method of collecting operational information from open sources (OSINT) for counter – terrorism investigations are given, the topics were also touched upon: crime investigation – “Darkweb”, “cryptocurrencies”.
In addition, the training was attended by representatives of private companies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus engaged in emergency response to cybercrime (CERT).
