Forensic experts held a meeting with a delegation from Japan

On August 25, 2022, a working meeting was held at the Embassy of Japan with a delegation of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Director of the Forensic Examinations Centre Nazgul Imambayeva.

During the meeting, the Japanese side expressed gratitude to the Forensic Examinations Centre for their assistance in conducting expeditions organized by the Government of Japan to search, identify and return to their homeland the remains of Japanese citizens who died in prisoner of war camps in the period from 1945-1950 on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The results obtained in the course of these studies were sent to the Japanese side.

In turn, a similar expedition is planned this year, in which the Head of the Forensic Medical Department of the Institute of Forensic Examinations in Almaty, Artem Kurbangaliev, will take part.

In turn, the parties exchanged assurances of mutual respect and noted the high level of partnership between the organizations.
