Development of science and technology, high scientific and technical level of modern crime increase the importance of forensic expertise in ensuring the activities of law enforcement agencies and courts with a high-quality expert opinion, and require constant modernization of the approaches to managing the forensic expert activities.
In this regard, it should be emphasized that forensic expertise in Kazakhstan, being an integral component of the legal framework of the state, at the present stage is progressively developing under the aegis of the global trend.
It should be noted that the development, expansion and use of the capabilities of modern forensic expertology by establishing and strengthening partnerships is one of the important steps to protect the interests of both the state and the rights and freedoms of the citizens.
At the initiative of Kazakhstan, a working group of forensic experts of the Conference of Ministers of Justice of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (2017) was established, including representatives of such countries as India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Currently, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Center for Forensic Expertise) has bilateral partnerships in the field of forensic expertise with countries such as Armenia (2001, 2015, 2019), Belarus (2015, 2018), Georgia (1998) and Ukraine (2018).
In 2019, the Center joined the Asian Forensic Science Network, which is one of the world's leading communities in the field of forensic science and provides an opportunity to exchange experience, conduct joint scientific research with the countries of the Community.
